Christian Discipleship and Spiritual Formation are the basis for inspiring students at HCA. With a variety of learning and community opportunities, students are encouraged to ask questions, find answers, and grow in their faith.
Christian Discipleship
Bible Curriculum
In addition to the Alberta Education program of studies, HCA provides a dedicated Bible curriculum from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Our Christian Education curriculum reveals the authority of Christ through scriptures and presents the relevance of Jesus in the daily lives of our students.
Our Christian Education curriculum provides multiple opportunities for students to choose to follow Jesus and develop a personal relationship with Him. Students learn how to apply biblical truth to their lives as they memorize Scripture and learn about Christ.
Sr. High students receive credit for the Bible classes.

Our chapels occur every Friday at HCA. The aim is always to inspire commitment to Christ through worship and hearing the Word of God. We celebrate student-led worship. Parents are always welcome to join us... Just make sure you sign-in at the main office before heading to the Chapel.

Grades 3/4: 9:00 - 9:30 am
Grades 5/6: 9:30 - 10:00 am

Student Retreats
Student Retreats are a highlight for students at HCA. They help to build school community and help each class to get to know each other better. Every retreat has elements of games and activities, but also has a spiritual focus with worship and gifted speakers to challenge our students. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and help supervise the students on these retreats.
Spiritual Emphasis Week
A week of focus on the annual school theme where students from K-Grade 12 are challenged to really press into their faith.
Service Opportunities & Trips
A large part of our mission at Heritage is developing opportunities for students to serve others.
Through key partnership with Christian organizations in the greater Calgary area, there are opportunities to serve throughout the year.
Jr and Sr High students are given the opportunity to serve for longer periods of time as part of a team. Recent tips have included organizing camps in partnership with Camp Chestermere, serving Tsu'tina first nations. This year our Sr. High team will be partnering with the Mustard Seed in Red Deer.
Meet Our Discipleship Pastors
HCA’s full-time Discipleship Pastor, Grover Bradford, is rarely in his office because he’s in the hallways, classrooms or the local Starbucks meeting with students, staff and parents. Discipleship is about relationship with each other and with Jesus. Aside from one on one relationships, Pastor Grover facilitates the Discipleship classes, coordinates retreats, and oversees chapels.
Our full-time Assistant Discipleship Pastor, Meagan Orr, has experience working with children of all ages and providing personal, behavioural, and spiritual support to students and their families. She is an excellent communicator and skilled preacher and teacher. We are excited for her support of our mission to create a culture of discipleship and inspire commitment to Christ. Her desire is for each student she works with to know God personally and to own their faith.
