ELEVATE Ireland 2017

Sunday

We promised more details today, so here goes...

This morning our team split into two groups to go to two very different churches. One was a traditional Church of Ireland and the other was a Pentecostal church. Both groups had an amazing time. Luis, Tyler, Leah and McKayla went to the Calry Parish Church for their monthly "All Ages" service with Miss Olson, Mr. Dean, Mrs. Van der Kamp and Mrs. Spence. They joined the choir, led worship songs, did scripture readings and the three ladies got to read "You Are Special" for the children. Myles, Milo, Joel, Noah and Nick got to lead Sunday School at Sligo City Church. They prepared a lesson on "The Prodigal Son", sang songs, shared about Canada and did crafts. A fun time was had by all.

After church we had a great chill day. Some of us wandered the town while others stayed and played Dutch Blitz and Uno. We had visits from some of the people we've met and worked with while were were here. We just finished our nightly debrief where we each shared two of our highlights from the trip. Some were silly, like playing in the mud and scaring McKayla, some were exciting new experiences like running on the beach. A lot had to do with getting to know each other on a deeper level and the fun that we've had together. And then there were the new experiences we had in ministry and digging deeper in our relationships with God. All in all, we've been totally blessed to be able to serve in Sligo.

We're finishing up cleaning the White House Hostel and packing. Then off to bed to prepare for a great day of touring Northern Ireland tomorrow. We'll be visiting the Giant's Causeway and winding up in Dublin for the night. Then Tuesday we fly home. We're sad to be leaving such a warm, welcoming city, but I think there a few students that are really looking forward to home as well.

In Christ,

Team Elevate

Well done! And Tyler, we all want to hear that testimony when you get home!

It has been really quiet here. I'm looking forward to it some great stories and pictures and having some more entertainment of the fun teenager variety back.
